Press Release by GCA on Turkmen Gas Fields

In a public Statement, GCA told the following:

In October 2008, Gaffney Cline & Associates announced the results of its audit of the gas resources of the South Yolotan/Osman and Yashlar fields in Turkmenistan. Following that announcement, the following pulic statement was released.

Statement dated October 11 2008.
Following the recent announcement by the Government of Turkmenistan of the results of a recent independent audit, Gaffney, Cline & Associates (GCA) confirm that it has undertaken the audit of the Gas-in-Place and Resources estimate of the Yolotan/Osman and Yashlar fields onshore eastern Turkmenistan. The results of GCA's work on these two fields were presented to the Government of Turkmenistan on October 11,12, 2008.
GCA has been authorized by the Government of Turkmenistan to confirm certain information from our report as follows:
South Yolotan/Osman:
4.0 TCM (Low Case)
6.0 TCM (Best Case)
14.0 TCM (High Case)

Yashlar:
0.3 TCM (Low Case)
0.7 TCM (Best Case)
1,5 TCM (High Case)

GCA's work was undertaken exclusively for the Government of Turkmenistan and further requests for information should be made to the Government of Turkmenistan.

In October 2009, various unnamed sources suggested that the above results may have been unreliable due to the absence of sufficient data and/or to the use of previous interpretations provided by specialists from within Turkmenistan. In response to these suggestions, Gaffney, Cline & Associates no makes the following additional statement.

Statement dated October 15, 2009
"The work undertaken by Gaffney, Cline & Associates (GCA) on the Southe Yolotan/Osman and Yashlar fields in 2008 was based on original field data provided by State Concern Turkmengeologiya. As stated by GCA at the time of the report, the data provided to GCA (both well data ans seismic) were fully adequate to support the results which were published. Further, these results were the product of GCA's original and independent work on the base data, and not dependent upon any previous interpretations made by Turkmen or other international specialists."
